New Artist Exhibits at Yates House Gallery

Bonnie Hopson, art teacher and resident of Chesterfield County and Deltaville, is the newest artist exhibiting at Yates House Gallery.  Hopson has been teaching art for 25 years since receiving her BFA in art education at VCU.  She says, “ Whenever a subject draws me to paint, light is always the inspiration.”  This can be seen in Hopson’s florals, still life and landscapes which she does in watercolor and prismacolor.  She works from her own photos and also en plein air.

Hopson was born in Richmond and has been married to Billy Hopson for 35 years.  She has 2 grown daughters, Becky and Kathy and a new grandmother to Kaylee.

Hopson’s experience and interest in all things artful will be a wonderful asset to the Yates House Community Arts Center in planning summer programs for children.

The Yates House Gallery is located on Route 33 in Deltaville and is open from 11 to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
